I began my working career as an architect, having been sponsored through my five years of studies by George Wimpey and Sons, before deciding that a military career as a fast jet navigator, offered a little more excitement. After a flying career cut short by a broken neck, I served all over the world, completed an MBA at Cranfield University, before ending up as the RAF Performance and Risk Manager at HQ Air Command, High Wycombe. I retired from the RAF in 2008 to become Bursar at Collingwood College, one of the largest state secondary schools in England with over 2,100 students. I project-managed the conversion of Collingwood College to Academy status in 2010 and was made a Fellow of the National Association of School Business Managers after completing a PGCE and MSc in Educational Leadership.
I joined St Joseph’s College in 2012 as the first member of the new management team that has been so successful in recent years. A Compliance Inspector since October 2015, I have carried out numerous Compliance Inspections over the past five years across the UK. Outside of school, I enjoy live music and am a regular at festivals and concerts whenever I can.
