The UKMT Junior Maths Challenge is a national problem-solving challenge completed by students all around the country. Thirteen talented students have achieved Gold awards in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge 2023 and some of them have also received an invitation to compete in the Junior Kangaroo 2023 follow-on round on 14 June.
This is a huge achievement and they should all be very proud.

There were other awards for a number of our pupils with a further 14 Silver and 38 Bronze awards earnt in this challenge.

Mr Shuttleworth, Head of Maths said, ” We are very proud of all our students – they have an excellent commitment to learning; they are inquisitive, driven and resilient. This is reflected in these outstanding results.“

The UK Mathematics Trust, founded in 1996, runs the UK’s biggest junior, intermediate and senior maths challenges, attracting more than 700,000 entries each year from more than 1,000 schools across the country. The Junior Mathematical Challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
