Celebrating achievement at the Sports Award Dinner

20.09.2022

We recently hosted our annual Sports Award Dinner which was a wonderful evening of celebration and recognition for all our sporting stars.

Head, Mrs Stotesbury, welcomed all the guests and led a reflection on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Our first speaker of the evening, Louis Alexander, opened the event with an inspirational talk about finding the fire to light your adventure spirit.

This was followed by the presentation of the Hockey, Football, Rugby and Netball Awards. Newly created 1st Team winners were: Katherine M, Nic T, Aakash R and Abigail K.

Our individual sports players were then awarded for their season’s performances, including our top level sprinters Sofia E and Reuben D as Athletes of the Year.

After a lovely dinner catered for by Thomas Franks, recent World Record Breaker Josh Quigley, told his incredible cycling story. From the deepest lows to the upmost highs, his journey as an athlete, truly is one of commitment, determination and resilience.

The final awards were given to Team of Commitment (1st VII Netball), Team of the Year (U14B Football), Sporting Role Model of the Year (Maddy H) and Sports Personality of the Year (Damien F).

Congratulations to all those who received awards and thanks to all our staff members to contribute to sport at the College.
