House Performances 2023

13.12.2023

The entire school came together yesterday for the House Performances, where each House showcased their talents in an attempt to win 100 points. It was a vibrant and exciting event filled with energy, fun and impressive skills. The judges (Mrs Stotesbury, Mrs Jwaideh, Mrs Boccaccini and Mrs Douglas) were left with a very difficult task choosing between Dixon, Jennings, Hummel and Richardson.

Dixon in glorious green kicked the show off with their fantastic version of “Into the Woods”, featuring various Fairy Tale characters, creative tree outfits from Prep, a couple  of waving trees (think Whomping Willows) and a rather wooden performance from Kevin in the Sites Team who was a tree. There were outstanding acting performances, beautiful singing of the song “Agony” and impressive piano playing.

Jennings House then took the stage in a wave of blue delivering a powerful performance of Uptown Funk . The audience was treated to horn and percussion performances, drummer boys (think Madness – One Step Beyond), energetic gymnastic flips, the splits, ballet, break dancing and more. What a performance!

Then, as fast as Lightning, everyone was Kung-Foo Fighting as Hummel appeared in a purple haze captivating everyone with their Kung-Foo fighting and impressive karate moves. There was an abundance of mock fighting and karate chopping with Mrs Bray channelling her excellent Crane poses and Mrs Kesel (Aka the Karate Kid) getting into character.

Finally, it was Minion mayhem with bumblebees and bananas, as Richardson showed us the way to Amarillo. Their impressive video footage showcased various parts of the school with students and staff popping up in unexpected locations dressed in crazy yellow outfits and hard hats. With a lot of Sha-La-la-Las thrown in along the way it was an unforgettable performance.

After a very entertaining 40 minutes the results were announced in reverse order as follows:-

Hummel in 4th place

Jennings in 3rd place

Dixon in 2nd place

Richardson in 1st place

Many Congratulations to Richardson House. Here is sneak of some of there video:
