On Tuesday, we celebrated the excellent work of our Prep LAMDA pupils in our annual showcase. Children from Year 1 upwards performed a variety of pieces, some of which were put together especially for the event and involved rather wonderful home made / sourced props! A number of our pupils showed their current exam pieces with beautiful expression, diction and projection and parents were able to see the progression of this wonderful syllabus in the work shared.
The event closed with Mr Jones presenting the Autumn Term exam candidates with their certificates. He was delighted to share with parents that once again pupils achieved a 100% Distinction pass rate. At St Joe’s we believe passionately in the power of LAMDA for building confidence and improving communication skills, which come through enthusiastic commitment, and opens up fabulous opportunities to collaborate.
This year Mrs Dinnin was particularly struck by the compassion our pupils extend to one another both in duo lessons where they consistently support and encourage one another and at the performance where they came together, shared their learning and cheered each other on. Mrs Dinnin said “This is of course, the essence of who we are at St Joseph’s – a community of kindness who celebrate one another. It is the greatest joy to see pupils become increasingly confident.”
