Meet the Staff

Lay Chaplin

Mrs R Dressel

I recently joined St Joseph’s College, taking up the role of Lay Chaplain in April 2024. Prior to this, I spent 10 years teaching History at St Mary’s School Ascot where I was also a Deputy Head of House and a member of the ministry team. My new role presents an exciting opportunity for me to build on my previous experience of pastoral care and youth ministry in a Catholic school. I am looking forward to devising new and creative ways of engaging students and staff in the spiritual life of St Joseph’s, and to championing their wellbeing. I am also looking forward to getting back in the classroom and teaching some History from September 2024.

When we are not working, you can find my husband and I chasing around after our young son, who at the time of writing, is commando crawling at speed and chewing everything in sight. My day off in the week is spent shaking maracas and wafting a parachute at his Baby Sensory class. We live locally in Reading and enjoy strolling to the swings in Palmer Park or to the Thames Path towards Sonning. I am also a parishioner of St James Catholic Church in Reading.
