Transport & Uniform

Enhanced Minibus Service

We offer a comprehensive and enhanced minibus service to and from St Joseph’s College in partnership with Zeelo, TK Travel and Green Metro Cars.

Our routes are regularly reviewed and may be updated or expanded based on demand.

Current routes include:

Henley / Wargrave
Sonning Common / Caversham / Reading Station
Wokingham / Winnersh / Earley
Thatcham / Reading
Riseley / Arborfield / Spencers Wood / Shinfield
Taplow / Maidenhead  / Cookham

Late Bus Service

We offer a complimentary Late Bus to Reading Station at 5.15pm from the College.
Booking Required: Book through St Joseph’s Main Reception
Booking Cut-Off: 2.00pm on the day of travel

Ticket Options:

  • Annual Passes: unlimited travel throughout the academic year – no need to book, you will be automatically allocated to every journey.
  • Term Passes: unlimited travel throughout the whole term – no need to book, you will be automatically allocated to every journey.
  • Bundle passes: ideal for more flexibility – you can pick and choose when you want to travel, and only pay for the rides you use.

How to book with Zeelo

  1. Visit the Zeelo booking system and choose your nearest pick-up location.

  2. Select your ticket type (Annual, Term, or Bundle).

  3. Create a Zeelo account in your name and email address. Add your child’s name as the rider. For Bundle Tickets: You must manually book each ride. For Annual or Term Passes: You’ll be auto-allocated a seat, but please cancel any rides you won’t use to free up space for others.

  4. Book or cancel up to 5 minutes before departure.

  5. Tickets will be emailed to you. If your child does not have a smartphone, they can simply give their name to the driver.

Suggesting a New Stop:

Use the ‘Request new pick-up’ option under ‘Find a pickup near me’ on Zeelo. Zeelo continuously reviews routes in collaboration with St Joseph’s.

Taplow/Maidenhead/Cookham Route – from September 2025

A dedicated service is available from Cookham and Maidenhead in partnership with The Abbey School.

  • Open to all St Joseph’s families – no affiliation with The Abbey is required.
  • Book and pay directly via: theabbey.vectare.co.uk
  • Simply create an account to manage bookings and receive updates.

Reading Buses

The following Reading Buses drop off near the College. See below for the most convenient routes and stops:

  • 80 & 81 – from Caversham (school times only). Closest stops: Addington Road, Alexandra Road, Elmhurst Road

  • 19a / 19b / 19c – from Woodley, Lower Earley, Earley. Closest stop: Addington Road

  • 21 – from Lower Earley. Closest stop: University area or Shops/Sports Park on Christchurch Road

  • 17 – from Tilehurst or Earley. Closest stop: Melrose Avenue

  • 4 & X4 – from Bracknell, Wokingham, Earley. Closest stop: Melrose Avenue

  • Leopard 3 – from Shinfield, Arborfield. Closest stop: Shops/Sports Park on Christchurch Road

  • Buzz 9 – from Spencers Wood. Closest stop: Shops/Sports Park on Christchurch Road

Coming from Reading Station:

  • Bus options: 21, Leopard 3, White Knight 20, 19b, Buzz 9.
  • Walking distance: Approximately 3–10 minutes to the College

Uniform, Sixth Form Dress Code & Equipment

All students are expected to adhere to St Joseph’s uniform regulations.

Stevensons is the uniform stockist for St Joseph’s College branded uniform and PE/Games kit for Prep – Year 11. Items can be ordered online or bought in store:
