The Chronicles of Narnia – a St Joseph’s production

25.06.2024

The Year 5-8 pupils made us incredibly proud last week with their outstanding production of ‘The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.’ Over two nights of captivating performances, they showcased their impressive acting talents and adept backstage skills, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed.

Backstage

Zoe and Amelia from Year 12 have been catching up with them to uncover the stories behind the stage. Backstage crew members Ronnie and Rory have been key players in the production’s success. “We have never been involved in anything like this before, and the experience and opportunity have been great,” they shared. Rory, who recently joined the College, added, “The production has enabled me to make new friendships.”

Year 8 students Tanya and Brooke, who play the roles of Mrs. Macready and The Warden, have also been contributing behind the scenes. They expressed their enthusiasm for the project, highlighting that they have made new friends across different year groups and enjoyed working with their costumes, which they described as having a ‘good style.’

The Year 9s, who have been mentoring the younger performers, noted that although the younger students are always “full of energy,” this “high energy” is brought to the stage, enhancing the performance. They observed, “Being on the other side of the stage is a whole new experience, and it is interesting to be a part of something you don’t see as an actor.”

Overall, ‘The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe’ has been a tremendous success, allowing our students to flourish both onstage and behind the scenes. Well done, everyone!
