Ski Trip to Vialattea 2023

02.03.2023

Pupils from across the College headed to Alps for some half term fun on the slopes in February. A long journey and a late night arrival, saw 43 excitable students arrive in Sestriere, Italy to enjoy the slopes of Vialattea.

The children were quickly slotted into their groups for skiing, including an advanced group, intermediate group, a boarding group and 22 beginners. Everyone found the beautiful weather a surprise and thermal layers were quickly removed to enjoy the sunshine and bright blue skies.

The instructors were fabulous, ensuring pupils could all make the most of the time on the snowy pistes. Strong skiers took the gondola to the other side of the mountain and skied the wide open, empty red runs in San Sicario and Saux D’Oulx – up here, they took photos of the amazing views across to France.

Meanwhile, back in Sestriere boarders and novices were making rapid progress onto chair and drag lifts to get up to conquer fun blues.

At the end of the week, everyone gained enough skill to ‘snake’ it down a red and the top skiers had all gone down the black runs.

Off the slopes, we enjoyed two nights of indoor football, a quiz night, a pizza evening and of course lots of pasta!

Ciao until next time in 2025 !
