Enchanting ‘Wonderland’ Year 5-8 production

03.07.2023
Year 5 to 8 Production June 2023, “Wonderland” stage prop

What a wonderful performance from our Year 5 to 8 pupils in their recent 2023 drama production, ‘Wonderland.’

The play was an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland with the script being an original work conceived by our very own talented Drama department team.

Over 90 pupils performed in two casts and they really were quite something to behold as both casts brought their own character and style to the performances. The theatre had been transformed and the audience were treated to a feast for the eyes and ears with a set designed by our GCSE and A Level students (assisted by an army of lower senior volunteers!)

The play had been cleverly cast with five Alices per cast which added depth and interest to the production as the audience followed Alice on her psychedelic adventure through the looking glass.

This year, yet again, the Year 8 graphics competition to design the programme cover had a number of really great entries with the winning design being created by Iestyn.

Two other covers designs from Year 8 pupils Albert and Bertie were also chosen to featured in the programme as they were just too good not to be shared.

Well done to all the performers and a big thank you to all the light and sound technicians, our back stage cast, our wonderful teachers and anyone else who worked so tirelessly to bring this brilliant original production to the stage. It really was a team effort and it wouldn’t have been possible without the army of pupils and staff who helped to bring the script to life.
